DTF transfers

Acronyms can feel a bit stuffy and jargon heavy so let’s break things down and tell you exactly the bits you need to know.

‘DTF’ (direct to film) is type of transfer where designs are printed directly onto a special film using water based inks. An adhesive powder is bonded or cured to the artwork and then it’s ready to heat press onto pretty much any fabric or garment.

Here’s why we like it:

  • perfect for full colour vibrant prints.

  • no set-up costs or minimum order quantities.

  • versatile - can be pressed onto cotton and polyester.

  • soft feel and doesn’t have a heavy texture to it like vinyl transfers.

  • good print longevity - doesn’t peel or crack if cared for correctly.

  • holds detail, fine lines, and intricate designs really well.

  • quick turnaround - usually 2-3 working days depending on current workload.
